The event was led by Fr. Onofre G. Inocencio, Jr., SDB, the President of UniTVET, accompanied by the UniTVET delegation.
The primary goal of the benchmarking activity was to explore, learn, and exchange best practices with the Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center. The benchmarking initiative was designed to observe modern training methodologies, innovative educational techniques, and technical programs that are crucial for enhancing TVET practices in the Philippines. RTC-KPVTC is widely known for its excellent training systems, which are heavily influenced by the strong partnership between Korea and the Philippines in the vocational training sector.
By aligning with RTC-KPVTC’s standards and operations, UniTVET aims to foster improvements in the training curriculum and processes offered across its network. This effort reflects the organization’s commitment to continuously improving the quality of technical and vocational education and meeting the growing demands of the modern workforce
Fr. Onofre G. Inocencio, Jr., SDB, who spearheaded the activity, emphasized the importance of collaborations between local and international vocational training institutions. As the President of UniTVET, Fr. Inocencio is a strong advocate for advancing TVET in the Philippines through innovative programs and partnerships that support students and trainees in acquiring essential technical skills for the labor market.
The UniTVET delegation closely observed the training facilities, teaching methodologies, and various programs offered by RTC-KPVTC during the benchmarking visit. The team was particularly impressed by the center’s approach to integrating modern technology into its technical training programs, which enhances the hands-on learning experience for students
The activity was an opportunity to share insights and experiences between UniTVET and RTC-KPVTC staff. Both institutions exchanged ideas on improving technical education, upgrading equipment, and expanding training programs to address current industry needs.
The benchmarking activity served as an inspiration for UniTVET as they continue their mission of uplifting technical education and ensuring that Filipino students are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in competitive industries both locally and internationally
With the insights gained from the benchmarking activity, UniTVET is expected to implement some of the observed best practices in its network of institutions. This will ensure that the TVET sector in the Philippines remains competitive and aligned with international standards, further contributing to the economic growth of the country.
