On Monday, January 9, 2023, two batches of trainees who were enrolled in the Plaster Concrete Leading to Masonry NC II qualification and one batch of trainees enrolled in the Tile Setting NC II qualification under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) received starter toolkits at Brgy. Malabog, Paquibato District, Davao City.
Congressman Vincent J. Garcia and Councilor Javi Garcia Campos joined the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao’s Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes Jr. in the distribution of toolkits.
The trainers for the respective qualifications were Alexander Dagohoy for Tile Setting and Joel Magallanes Jr. for Plaster Concrete.
This special training program aims to provide employment opportunities and improve the skills of individuals in the community. The distribution of starter toolkits, which include necessary materials and equipment for the training, is a key step in helping participants succeed in the program.
The program is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy as graduates will be able to secure employment in their field of study.
