Around 50 members, mostly women, of the Dibabawon tribe in Brgy. Gupitan, Kapalong Davao del Norte were trained in Installing Lighting Systems leading to Electrical Installation Maintenance (EIM) NC II, in an effort to finally bring light into the homes of the recipients through TESDA’s training program according to the plan of TESDA XI.
The shared leadership of the Office of the Regional Director (ORD) XI Engr. Lourenzo G. Macapili, DTE and RTC-KorPhil Davao Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes Jr. Ed.D paved the way for the Training Induction Program of the participants on February 21, 2022 at Sitio Dugayan, Brgy. Gupitan.
With the training proper implemented in March, ORD and RTC-KorPhil Davao culled out around Php 300,000.00 to procure the needed electrical and wiring devices which will be installed by the beneficiaries in their own houses.
Trainer John Paul L. Dingal, LPT said that the training will not only give light to the homes but will also give possible employment opportunities to the trainees. Dingal shared that some of his previous trainees were now hired to assist electricians and are now earning good with the skills they learned from TESDA.
Tribal Leader of Sitio Dugayan Datu Danilo Osod represented the Dibabawon beneficiaries in expressing gratitude to TESDA for bringing the timely and much-needed government program to his tribe.
Brgy. Gupitan is an identified priority area this 2022 under the EO 70 or Whole-of-the-Nation-Approach in attaining peace and order in the community.
