Davao region will now have more assessors and trainers in the amended Heavy Equipment Operation (Forklift) NC II as TESD XI held a capability building program for prospective Provincial Lead Assessors (PLA) on February 15-16, 2023 in RTC-KorPhil Davao.
The two-day event was joined by 10 participants from TESDA Technology Institutions (TTI), Technical Vocational Institutions (TVI), and freelance assessors of Davao City/Sur, Davao del Norte, and Davao Occidental.
Regional Lead Assessor Engr. Ricky J. Dabalos handled the program who tackled on February 15 the new Training Regulation of HEO (Forklift) NC II which now contains 21st Century Skills in basic competencies as well as the 40-hour Supervised Industry Learning (SIL), thus increasing the former 156 hours’ duration into 181 hours.
On February 16, the participants were tested in the National Assessment with Engr. Dabalos as assessor who moderated the written examination and forklift operation of the candidates demonstrating the required knowledge, attitude, skills, and industry practices (KASI).
Successful candidates can apply or be designated as PLAs in their respective provinces who will be responsible for the development of more HEO (Forklift) NC II trainers and assessors.
As of this writing, RTC-KorPhil Davao is still the only accredited Assessment Center in Davao Region and is open to accept assessment schedules. The number of AC will soon rise as other TTI, and TVI who participated in the above PLA can now register their AC in the said qualification
