In line with the TESDA’s continuous skills and training development, national learning strategies, quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation and provision of administrative support and assistance of Provincial Technical Experts Panel / PTEP on benchmarking studies was identified as one of the key reform thrust envisioned to promote effectiveness for organizational success of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the TESDA Technology Institutions (TTI).
Benchmarking activities play a crucial role in fostering growth and development by enabling organizations to learn from the best practices of others. It serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, providing a valuable opportunity for personnel to gain new perspectives, acquire innovative ideas, and improve their existing processes.
In their pursuit of continuous improvement and enhanced skills training program management, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Davao de Oro Provincial Office, alongside the Provincial Training Center (PTC) and Davao National Agricultural School (DNAS), recently undertook a benchmarking activity. On June 23, 2023, a select group of personnel from these institutions visited the renowned Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao to gain valuable insights and ideas to further enhance their skills training programs.
RTC-KPVTC Davao has built a stellar reputation based on its state-of-the-art facilities, rigorous training programs, and successful outcomes. By visiting the Training Center, the personnel from TESDA Davao de Oro Provincial Office, PTC, and DNAS aimed to understand and incorporate the practices that have made it a leading institution in the field of skills training.
During the benchmarking activity, personnel from TESDA Davao de Oro Provincial Office, PTC, and DNAS engaged in various activities to gain comprehensive insights into skills training program management. They participated in interactive discussions, observed training sessions, and interacted with the instructors and trainees at RTC-KPVTC Davao. This hands-on approach allowed them to witness firsthand the effective strategies and techniques implemented by the Center.
Armed with the knowledge acquired from their visit, the personnel from TESDA Davao de Oro Provincial Office, PTC, and DNAS are now expected to apply the lessons learned to enhance their own skills training programs. By incorporating innovative strategies, streamlining processes, and leveraging industry partnerships, their aim is to elevate the quality and effectiveness of their training offerings, ultimately benefiting the trainees, communities, and industries they serve.
