Trainees of Dressmaking NC II under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao have received their starter toolkits on September 30, 2024, during the program held by PBA Partylist in USEP-Obrero, Davao City.

Twenty (20) trainees received a small electric sewing machine from TESDA, which they can use in starting their own small dressmaking businesses in Davao. The event was graced by the representative of PBA Partylist, Hon. Margarita Ignacia “Migz” Nograles, the principal sponsor of the scholarship program. The activity was also attended by heads and representatives of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and TESDA – Ms. Araceli Guanzon, Supervising TESD Specialist of the TESDA Davao City District Office, and Mr. Joie Vincent R. Dagohoy, Scholarship Focal of RTC-KPVTC Davao. MAGSIGE MPC, a private TESDA-accredited institution in Davao, also released their Dressmaking NC II toolkits during the event.
Future trainings under the STEP scholarship will entitle the trainees to receive starter toolkits. Trainees must complete the required training duration of their courses in order to receive the toolkits and other benefits of their scholarship program.
