“You’re hired!”
That is one of the most anticipated lines any fresh graduate would love to hear once they apply for their first jobs – and to make that possible, the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao conducted a mini-Job Fair on February 20, 2024, in its Multipurpose Hall in Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City. As of writing, there are twenty-four (24) walk-in applicants who expressed their interest in applying.
Two (2) companies were present during the activity: Monde Nissin Corporation (MNC) and Jewm Agro-Industrial Corp (JAIC), also known as Jewm Eggs. Both companies conducted their hiring processes on the spot, with the majority of the applicants coming from the graduating trainees and fresh graduates of RTC-KPVTC Davao diploma courses.
MNC, known for its nationwide production of Lucky Me! Noodles and Pancit Canton products, as well as other foods such as biscuits, has decided to tap RTC-KPVTC Davao in their mass hiring, since they are opening a new plant just near the institution, in Brgy. Ilang, Davao City. Their company is mainly hiring Production Crew and Equipment Owners, who ideally have certifications and backgrounds in technical skills such as electrical, electronics, welding, among others. Representing the company are Ms. Cristina Marie Ruby D. Basalan and Ms. Khyra M. Bato. They have conducted a preliminary exam prior to their interview process, as part of their hiring procedures.
JAIC, known for its production of quality eggs in Mindanao under its brand line Jewm Eggs, reached out and visited RTC-KPVTC Davao just last February 14, 2024, expressing interest in hiring graduates from the institution. The company is looking for Poultry Staff, Feedmill Staff, Electricians, Drivers, Automechanics, Masons/Carpenters, Plumbers, and Welders. They are represented by Ms. Rosalinda Pedros.
Concurrently, the Social Security System (SSS) also set up a booth for all trainees and employees of RTC-KPVTC Davao who wish to create their SSS accounts, as well as answer queries regarding the status of their membership. This will be a big help, especially to the fresh and soon-to-be graduates, as SSS is one of the mandatory requirements in the world of work.
