Twenty trainees of the Rice Machinery Operations NC II from RTC-KorPhil Davao visited on July 7, 2023 the Gravity Irrigators Sustainable Agriculture Cooperative (GISACO) at New Visayas, Sto. Tomas, Davao Del Norte to witness the actual operations of the commercial rice grain dryers and millers.
GISACO Chairman Mr. Jeremias E. Casas and Manager Domingo G. Tambien welcomed the RMO NC II trainees to the Rice Processing Center I of the cooperative which houses a 1-ton multi-stage rice mill, 12-ton biomass and diesel-fed mechanical dryer, 6-ton biomass-fired mechanical dryer and a single-pass rice miller.
The visit is part of the Job Shadowing program underscored in the guidelines of the TESDA Circular No. 18 series of 2023 or the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) requiring a one-time industry visit for the trainees enrolled in NC I and NC II qualifications as exposure to actual work setting.
