The Regional Training Center- Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao recently hosted a two-day training event on October 17-18, 2023, aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) professionals. The training, titled “Safe handling of alternative refrigerants and application of good servicing practices,” brought together 25 participants from various sectors of the HVAC industry.
The participants included representatives from KorPhil Davao industry partners, HVAC Trainers from Davao Region TESDA, TESDA-accredited schools and training centers, and HVAC industry practitioners. This diverse gathering created a dynamic environment for sharing insights and best practices within the HVAC sector.
The training featured comprehensive discussions on critical topics, including updates on issues related to the Montreal Protocol Kigali Amendment, presented by DENR-EMB Representative, Engr. Morena M. Abellare. Additionally, Engr. Neil Jonathan D. Nadua addressed business policies within the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector.
Eugene Valdez, DHVACT Head Trainer of the center, and Gladies Mae B. Gepala, DHVACT Junior Trainer, facilitated the training, ensuring that participants gained valuable insights into the safe handling of alternative refrigerants and the application of good servicing practices. The event not only enhanced the participants’ technical skills but also underscored the industry’s commitment to environmentally responsible HVAC practices. With a focus on sustainability and industry best practices, the HVAC Multiplier Training at RTC-KPVTC Davao further strengthened the region’s HVAC workforce and their ability to adapt to evolving industry standards. This event highlighted the importance of continued education and collaboration in the HVAC industry, as it plays a critical role in the efficient and responsible management of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
