RTC-KorPhil, Davao Enhances Quality Management System with MIS Orientation

In a proactive move towards organizational excellence and as a strategic response to the revised requirements for STAR Rating Awards, RTC-KorPhil, Davao, held a comprehensive Monitoring Information System (MIS) Orientation on March 25, 2024 at the Twin Mountain View Resort, Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Stemming from the necessity to align with updated standards, this seminar/workshop aimed to equip employees with essential knowledge and skills to enhance the center’s proficiency in utilizing MIS for effective program monitoring and evaluation. This MIS Orientation and Workshop was facilitated by Ms. Lourdes M. Mission, co-chair of RTC-KorPhil TTI Advisory Council (TAC).

The objectives of the orientation were twofold. Firstly, to provide a comprehensive orientation on the functions of the Monitoring Information System (MIS) and record-keeping practices, thereby enhancing employees’ understanding and proficiency in utilizing MIS for program monitoring and evaluation. Secondly, to equip employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to accurately record and manage data, ensuring the integrity and reliability of information for decision-making and reporting purposes.

Emphasizing the critical role of MIS in ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness, RTC-KorPhil is committed to elevating its organizational performance and service delivery standards. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and empowerment, the center aims to not only meet compliance requirements but also drive innovation and excellence in vocational training and education.

The MIS Orientation is a proactive step toward organizational development and capacity building, demonstrating RTC-KorPhil’s commitment to continual improvement and adapting to industry best practices. This strategic plan emphasizes the center’s commitment to offering high-quality vocational training and education that fulfills the changing needs of its stakeholders while ensuring positive outcomes for trainees.

The necessity for a Monitoring Information System (MIS) Workshop for RTC-KorPhil personnel came from earlier discussions and agreements made during the TESDA KorPhil TTI Advisory Council (TAC)’s 3rd Quarterly Meeting on September 14, 2023, at the Grand Regal Hotel in Davao City. This requirement was determined owing to specific concerns about STAR Rating. Ms. Lourdes M. Mission, TAC Co-Chair, advocated training workers on MIS to implement the necessary revisions and requirements specifically for the newly updated STAR Rating Awards.
