On December 13, 2024,The Regional Training Center Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-Korphil) successfully hosted a Training of Trainers in Livelihood Training on Hydroponics Technology, focusing on lettuce production. The event took place at the RTC-Korphil Model Farm and was spearheaded by the center’s distinguished trainer, Engr. John Rome L. Balbanida.
The training brought together the active trainers of RTC-Korphil and a select group of agriculture students, aiming to enhance their skills and knowledge in hydroponics technology. This innovative farming method has gained prominence for its efficiency and sustainability, particularly in urban and resource-constrained settings.
Engr. John Rome L. Balbanida, known for his expertise and dedication to advancing agricultural practices, led the participants through the fundamentals and practical applications of hydroponic systems. The session included lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations at the model farm, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of lettuce production using hydroponics.
