In a bid to broaden their horizons and bolster their technical expertise, 33 trainees from Notre Dame of Kidapawan College’s Marist Vocational Training Program embarked on a benchmarking activity at the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao on January 10, 2024.
The primary objective of this benchmarking initiative was to provide the trainees with enhanced learning opportunities, exposing them to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. By engaging in hands-on activities and interacting with industry experts, the participants aimed to refine their technology-related skills. The visit also sought to cultivate a deeper appreciation for “blue-collar work” and strengthen their overall vocational competencies.
During the benchmarking activity, the Notre Dame of Kidapawan College trainees explored key areas at RTC-KPVTC Davao. The focus was on the Diploma in Information Technology, Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a specialization in Welding.
The trainees actively engaged with upgraded equipment and facilities in each specialized area, gaining practical insights that go beyond classroom instruction. The hands-on approach provided them with a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
A crucial aspect of the benchmarking activity was the opportunity for the trainees to interact with industry experts. These interactions served as a platform for knowledge exchange, allowing the students to seek guidance, ask questions, and gain valuable insights from professionals in their respective fields.
This benchmarking activity not only broadens the educational experience for the trainees but also contributes to the overall development of skilled professionals in the region. The collaboration between Notre Dame of Kidapawan College and RTC-KPVTC Davao sets a commendable example of proactive efforts in advancing vocational education and preparing students for the demands of the modern workforce.
