On a recent occasion, the employees and trainees of RTC-KPVTC Davao, led by Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes Jr. Ed.D., attended a monthly mass presided over by Fr. Proceso Gimeno Jr. at the institution’s Multipurpose Hall. During the event, the newly renovated TESDA-Daikin HVAC Training Center, Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) Office, Chemistry Laboratory of DABET, Food Processing Area of DHRT, and the office of the Center Administrator were blessed.
In addition, all the vehicles purchased and maintained by RTC-KPVTC Davao were also blessed to seek the Divine help for the safety and well-being of the drivers and passengers. This tradition of blessing vehicles dates back to the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines and is believed to provide protection against evil spirits and ensure a safe journey.
The practice of blessing vehicles and new facilities is deeply rooted in the religious faith that is an integral part of Philippine culture. For many Filipinos, it is a way to seek divine protection and to the hope that the new facility or vehicle will provide ease, safety, and prosperity to those who use it.
