Mr. Im Kynguk, a KOICA Overseas Volunteer for TESDA RTC-KPVTC, Davao’s Diploma in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology (DABET), embarks on a weeklong visit to the Training Center from Monday, August 7, 2023 to August 11, 2023 to prepare for his year-long engagement in the proposed project of Irrigated Urban Organic Farming.
The visit, which began on Monday and concludes today, Friday, exemplifies the cooperative spirit between TESDA RTC-KPVTC and KOICA through Mr. Kynguk as they jointly set the stage for a transformative collaboration in advancing agricultural practices and education in RTC-KPVTC, Davao and Davao Region in general.
Mr. Kynguk’s immersion serves as a pivotal step in acclimating him to the unique challenges and opportunities presented by Irrigated Urban Organic Farming. This project, proposed by TESDA RTC-KPVTC, aims to cultivate organic farming practices in urban settings, promoting sustainability and self-sufficiency. Mr. Kynguk’s year-long stay at the institution will focus on the seamless integration of innovative agricultural techniques within urban landscapes.
The weeklong visit is the result of TESDA RTC-KPVTC’s request to KOICA for a World Friends Korea (WFK)-KOICA Overseas Volunteer (KOV) to contribute to their agricultural initiatives. As Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Ed. D., Center Administrator of TESDA RTC-KPVTC, shared, “This visit lays the groundwork for a collaborative journey in reshaping agricultural TVET education and practices in our institution and in Davao Region hopefully.”
The initiative demonstrates TESDA RTC-KPVTC’s dedication to cultivating global partnerships that enrich technical education and agricultural programs. As Mr. Im Kynguk concludes his weeklong visit, he leaves behind a trail of anticipation for the upcoming year of collaborative work at TESDA RTC-KPVTC.
