The TESDA XI Regional Training Center-Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao Student Council (KDSC) recently held its highly anticipated Miting de Avance on October 28, 2024, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon in the TESDA RTC-KPVTC, Davao Mini-Theater Hall.
This event gave student candidates a vital opportunity to present their respective election platforms and engage directly with the student body before the upcoming student elections.
The Miting de Avance was conducted to allow students to actively participate in person and get to know those vying for student council positions. Classes were held asynchronously to accommodate everyone, ensuring that all students could attend this significant gathering without academic conflicts.
This year’s student elections campaign received strong support from the RTC-KPVTC and Davao Center Administrator, Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Ed.D. and KDSC Advisers, namely, Ms. Mary Grace A. Pelayo, Engr. Ailyn R. Tejero, Ms. Dina T. Catantan, and Mr. Manuel Ceasar Jr. R. Beltran, who is also the current KDSC COMELEC Chair. This support served as an important element in facilitating the electoral process.
The event promised to be a crucial platform for students to gain insights into the candidates’ visions and initiatives for the upcoming academic year. Students were encouraged to attend and actively participate in the democratic process that shapes their council and their school community.
RTC-KPVTC, Davao Memorandum No. 085 s. 2024 re: Student Council Elections and Miting de Avance and KorPhil Davao Student Council (KDSC) COMELEC Resolution No. 2024-001 re: Resolution to Move the Date of the Student Elections on October 29, 2024 served to inform the RTC-KPVTC, Davao community about the activities intended for the student body specifically the Miting de Avance on October 28, 2024 and the subsequent Student Council Elections on October 29, 2024. These documents were officially passed to ensure maximum student participation which is vital in exercising the democratic process of student governance.
