Graduates in Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing (MSES) are now more assured of employment after Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) announced that they want to hire technicians who are trained, assessed, and certified by TESDA to work in their company.
The good news was stated by the company’s Assistant Vice President for Customer Service Operations, Mr. Hitoshi Ito during their visit, in TESDA XI RTC-KorPhil Davao on February 21, 2023, at Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City. Mr. Ito was accompanied by HPI Customer Managers Mr. Noli D. Minor Jr., Mr. Cyrus L. Pagaran, and Mr. Dexter Estrella.
Mr. Mario M. Dela Cerna, the Training Department Head of RTC-KorPhil Davao, together with the trainers of the Diploma in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology (DABET) led by their head trainer Engr. Lougino A. Miguel and Diploma in Automotive Technology (DAT) headed by Mr. Armando Bolivar, welcomed the Honda Motors Philippines officials who in the first part of their visit toured the existing Honda Training Center which was established in RTC-KorPhil in 2009 to see the developments and milestones of the strong partnership between Honda and RTC-KorPhil Davao for 14 years now.
In the second part of the visit which was the laying-out of the present plans of Honda, particularly in introducing their Industry Practices and standards in MSES to DABET and DAT students, ranging from technicalities to customer services management were given emphasis as upgrading and upskilling of said Diploma students to the goal of making them more employable after they graduated especially in their branches and dealers.
Further, the upcoming Industry Forum of RTC-KorPhil in March this year was also tackled, to which the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) I and II of trainees in Honda Philippines, Inc. and other related collaborations will be deliberated thoroughly.
