General Santos National School of Arts and Trades Conducts Benchmarking Activity at RTC-KorPhil

In a continued commitment to enhancing technical and vocational education, General Santos National School of Arts and Trades (GSNSAT) conducted a Benchmarking activity at the Regional Training Center – Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KorPhil) in Davao City. This event, held on November 20, 2024, aimed to foster knowledge exchange and establish best practices for advancing technical and vocational programs in the region.

Representatives from GSNSAT, including administrators, instructors, and program coordinators, engaged with RTC-KorPhil faculty and staff to explore RTC-KorPhil’s cutting-edge training methodologies, technological resources, and curriculum frameworks. The benchmarking event focused on observing the advanced systems and teaching strategies used at RTC-KorPhil, which has earned recognition for its robust vocational training and skill development programs. These programs are tailored to meet both local and international standards in the fields of engineering, agriculture, and various trade skills, making RTC-KorPhil a leader in technical education in the Philippines

During the activity, GSNSAT participants toured RTC-KorPhil’s specialized training facilities, including laboratories for automotive and biosystems engineering, welding, and hydroponic farming techniques. These facilities support hands-on learning for students, a method that RTC-KorPhil integrates into its programs to better prepare trainees for real-world applications and industry demands.

The benchmarking visit concluded with a discussion on potential collaborative projects between GSNSAT and RTC-KorPhil. By aligning their teaching models and sharing resources, both institutions aim to develop a stronger framework for technical education that can better address the skills gap in the region. This collaboration signifies a joint effort to equip students with practical skills, increase employability, and meet the evolving demands of industries both locally and globally.

With insights gained from RTC-KorPhil’s established practices, GSNSAT plans to implement improved teaching strategies and resource management systems to enhance their programs. This initiative underscores the institution’s commitment to quality education and skill development, preparing students for success in a competitive workforce.
