RTC-KPVTC Davao Inaugurates KOICA Phase II Post Management Project

A significant milestone in the growing partnership between the Republic of Korea and the Philippines was celebrated as the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Phase II Post Management Project was officially inaugurated at the newly renovated Multipurpose Hall of the RTC-Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPTVC) on April 4, 2025.

The event was led by TESDA Director General Secretary Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez and KOICA Country Director Mr. Jung Young Sun, who, together with other TESDA and KOICA officials, took part in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to formally open the project.

Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Center Administrator of RTC-KPTVC, opened the event with a warm welcome, acknowledging the presence of guests and participants. This was followed by a message from TESDA Davao City District Director Novielita A. Dispo, who emphasized the value of continuous support for quality technical education in the region.

In his message, Mr. Jung Young Sun expressed KOICA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening technical vocational education in the Philippines. He emphasized the value of international cooperation in improving local communities and creating better opportunities for Filipino youth.

TESDA Region XI Regional Director, Dir. Ramon Evan T. Ruiz introduced the Guest of Honor and keynote speaker, Secretary Kiko Benitez, who expressed his gratitude for KOICA’s unwavering support. He encouraged stakeholders to work hand in hand to build a brighter future through inclusive and transformative education.

After the inauguration ceremony, Secretary Benitez, accompanied by Mr. Jung, DDG Villanueva III, and RD Ruiz, conducted a walkthrough of the RTC-KPTVC’s trade areas. The officials engaged with trainers and trainees, observing live demonstrations and discussing how the enhanced infrastructure will support the center’s goal of producing highly skilled graduates ready for local and international employment.
