558 TESDA Trainees in Davao Receive First Tranche of Financial Assistance

Davao City, March 31, 2025 – A total of 558 trainees at the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao received financial assistance under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA), a government program aimed at making vocational and technical education more accessible to Filipinos.

The trainees were awarded checks amounting to ₱8,200 each, covering their Training Support Fund (TSF), book and learning materials allowance, and uniform allowance. The financial aid is administered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as part of its initiative to support students in technical-vocational education and training (TVET) programs.

The TESDA Davao City District Office (DCDO) Director Novielita A. Dispo, led the distribution, joined by her staff – Mr. Bon Angelo Renos and Mr. Adrian Luna – and representatives from RTC-KPVTC Davao. Mr. Joie Vincent R. Dagohoy, Scholarship Focal, and his team – Ms. Alanah Tamarah A. Millan and Ms. Mary Grace I. Sijuela – facilitated the smooth release of the allowances.

The beneficiaries are enrolled for the February to June 2025 semester in various three-year diploma programs at RTC-KPVTC Davao, namely:

1. Diploma in Agricultural and Biosystems Technology (DABET)

2. Diploma in Automotive Technology (DAT)

3. Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (DCET)

4. Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Technology (DHRT)

5. Diploma in Heating, Ventilating, Airconditioning/Refrigeration Technology (DHVACT)

6. Diploma in Industrial Automation and Mechatronics Technology (DIAMT)

7. Diploma in Information Technology (DIT)

8. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (DMET) – specializing in Machining

9. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (DMET) – specializing in Welding

The trainees are expected to receive the second and third tranches of their financial assistance later in the year, contingent on maintaining acceptable attendance and achieving passing grades in their respective courses.
