KorPhil Davao Diploma enrollment ups by 2.22%

A total of 275 trainees enrolled as first year in the 3-year Diploma of Technology programs of the Regional Training Center-Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center in Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City in the first semester of training year 2024-2025.

This is 2.22% higher than the 225 entrants of the previous year.

In a chance interview, the Center’s Registrar II Ms. Irish S. Robledo, LPT attributed this increase to the additional batches in the Diploma of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology (DABET) and Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Technology (DHRT), admitting 50 freshman trainees in their areas this year.

The other seven trade areas remained a single batch of 25 freshmen which includes Diploma of Technologies in Civil Engineering (DCET), Information (DIT), Mechanical Engineering (DMET), Automotive (DAT), Welding (DWT), Industrial Automation and Mechatronics (DIAMT), and Heating and Air-conditioning (DHVACT).

Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes Jr. Ed.D added that the Regional Office of TESDA XI have allocated more scholarship vouchers to the Center to cater more numbers of deserving trainees as data of the Center’s Training Department revealed that hundreds of clients have stormed in the Center coming from within and even outside Davao Region including those who inquired last year but to no avail due to the limited scholarship slots.

“Pasalamat ko sa TESDA na naapil ko sa Diploma. Kadtung tuig 2021 pa ko sige atang ug slots unya karung tuiga ika upat na nako testing ug pa-enroll, nadawat ra g’yud. Grabe ka daghan nagapaenrol arun maka eskwela sa KorPhil. May gani kay nag open ug daghan slots karung tuiga (I am thankful to TESDA for accepting me in this Diploma program. I have been inquiring since 2021 and got enrolled on my fourth attempt this year because there are students interested to avail the scholarship and study in KorPhil. Luckily, more slots are opened this year)”, thus quipped by Bernardo V. Malaki Jr, 22, a first year trainee under the DHRT Batch 1
