On April 5, 2024, the RTC KorPhil Davao Student Council (KDSC) and RTC students gathered for the much-anticipated 2024 Acquaintance Party, which was a spectacular display of fellowship and joy. The event, dubbed “Pakighimamat,” was held at the RTC-KorPhil Davao Multipurpose Hall and promised to be a pastel-colored spectacle of excitement and fun.
“Pakighimamat” is a phrase from the Cebuano dialect used in the Philippines that loosely translates to “celebrating together” or “joining in solidarity.” It expresses the image of people coming together to celebrate or support a common cause or event, which is commonly done through festivities or gatherings.
The event was spearheaded by the Student Council, under the guidance of their dedicated advisers – Ms. Mary Grace A. Pelayo, Engr. Ailyn R. Tejero, Ms. Dina T. Catantan, and Mr. Manuel Ceasar Beltran Jr. and with the support of RTC-KorPhil Davao Center Administrator, Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr. Ed.D.
With meticulous planning and enthusiastic participation, the Student Council ensured an unforgettable experience for all attendees. More than just a gathering, the Acquaintance Party was a celebration of the RTC-KorPhil Davao community, its accomplishments, and the relationships that unite its people. It allowed students to come together, unwind, and make new connections with their peers. Among the buzz of training and academic commitments, the party provided a moment of leisure, allowing students to take a break from textbooks and homework and simply enjoy one another’s company.
From exciting activities, raffle prizes, and performances to scrumptious treats and bright decorations, “Pakighimamat” captured the sense of community and joy that defines RTC-KorPhil Davao. As laughter filled the air and friendships were cemented, the Acquaintance Party served as a reminder of the dynamic community that flourishes at RTC-KorPhil Davao, where relationships are formed and memories are created to last a lifetime.
