In a heartfelt demonstration of cross-cultural camaraderie, the Korean Community of Davao, led by President Maeng BongHo and esteemed guests Vice President Seo YoungCheol, Secretary General Sim JongSeok, and guest Youn Je Kwon, extended their generosity to the RTC KorPhil Davao Student Council through the 2024 Korean Food Promotional Event. The occasion unfolded on Friday, March 8, 2024, at RTC-KPVTC, Davao where the Korean Community made a thoughtful donation of Korean products, encompassing savoury ramen (noodles), classic kimbap (Korean sushi roll), and the beloved tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes).
This benevolent act was seamlessly woven into the fabric of the 14th Korean Cultural Festival celebration, underscoring the significance of cultural exchange in fostering understanding.
Moreover, the impactful gesture did not merely end with the donation; rather, it carried deeper meaning as the earnings generated from the sale of these products were directed to support the RTC KorPhil Davao Student Council.
Facilitated by Korean Overseas Volunteers (KOV) at RTC-KorPhil, Davao, spearheaded by Mr. Choi Gyongshik and Mr. Im Kyunguk, this initiative highlighted the community’s commitment to contributing to local educational endeavours and partnerships.
As the Korean Community of Davao continues to bridge cultural gaps and share the richness of Korean heritage, this event serves as a shining example of the power of unity and generosity in the spirit of cultural celebration, as well as how these gestures inspire young people to pass it on to future generations.
