The Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao took a significant step towards strengthening partnerships with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through a successful consultation held on November 28, 2023, at Seda Hotel Davao, Bajada.
The event drew the participation of various institutions across Davao Region, showcasing a collective commitment to advancing education and vocational training in the region.
The consultation commenced with a warm welcome from RTC-KPVTC Davao Center Administrator, Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., setting the tone for a day of collaboration and exchange. The agenda included a comprehensive presentation on TESDA RTC-KorPhil Davao’s Diploma Programs, shedding light on the diverse educational opportunities offered by the training center.
One of the highlights of the event was the insightful presentation on the Philippine Credit Transfer System by Kristi Donna N. Paredes, the TESDA XI Regional Operations Division (ROD) Diploma Program Focal. Paredes provided valuable insights on how RTC-KPVTC Davao can seamlessly integrate this system into its existing partnerships with HEIs, fostering a more flexible and responsive educational framework.
The consultation further facilitated group discussions, where HEIs were organized based on the Diploma Programs they were affiliated with. These interactive sessions allowed for a focused dialogue on how to enhance collaboration between RTC-KPVTC Davao and the participating institutions. The groups then presented their outputs, showcasing innovative ideas and strategies to optimize the synergy between vocational training and higher education.
The program reached its conclusion with a closing message from the ROD Diploma Focal Person, emphasizing the importance of ongoing collaboration between vocational training centers and higher education institutions.
