In a vibrant display of unity and commitment, the Regional Training Center Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC KPVTC) in Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City, commenced the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) with an inspiring kick-off celebration on November 28, 2023. Led by the Gender and Development (GAD) Focal and Center Nurse, Angelli C. Emborgo, BsBot, RPh, RN, and the Center Administrator, Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Ed.D., the event brought together personnel, staff, and Trainees in a collective effort to raise awareness and promote gender equality.
The day began with parade and patriotic flag-raising ceremony, setting the tone for the significant campaign ahead. The venue, RTC KPVTC in Buhisan, provided a fitting backdrop for this crucial initiative, emphasizing the importance of education and training in fostering a culture of respect and equality
The heart of the celebration unfolded in an inspiring opening program, where Nurse Angelli C. Emborgo and Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., delivered heartfelt messages that resonated with the audience. Nurse Emborgo highlighted the critical role of healthcare professionals in addressing the physical and emotional well-being of women affected by violence. She emphasized the need for a comprehensive and compassionate approach to support survivors and create a safe environment for all.
Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Ed.D., spoke passionately about the significance of education in challenging traditional norms that perpetuate violence. He stressed the importance of vocational training institutions like RTC KPVTC in promoting gender sensitivity and inclusivity, thereby contributing to the larger goal of a VAW-free society.
