To honor the trade areas and offices who displayed exemplary performances in the implementation of housekeeping in the workplaces, the RTC-KorPhil Davao have conferred awards on June 19, 2023 to the winners of the 5S Competition held first week of the month.
Of the nine participating trade areas, the Diploma in Heating, Ventilating, Air-conditioning Technology emerged supreme after pulling an impressive score of 93.67%. With its refurbishment earlier this year funded by its industry partner DAIKIN, DHVACT wowed the judges on its 5S culture- from maintenance, best practices and innovations.
Landing second place is a triple tie score of 93.33% for the Diploma in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology (DABET), Diploma in Industrial Automation and Mechatronics Technology (DIAMT), and the Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Technology (DHRT).
The Diploma in Information of Technology who garnered an average score of 92.67% finished third place in the podium.
For the office category, the Clinic Office dominated the top award after sweeping a clean score of 80.80% while the Center’s Administrator Office and the Scholarship Office gathered 78.13% and 76.26% in the second and third places, respectively.
In his message, Supervising TESD Specialists Mr. Gil D. Gonzales has extended his congratulations to the winners and has challenged everyone to sustain the best 5S practices. “I hope we will continue the 5S even after the competition to maintain our areas and workplaces,” Gonzales said.
The competition evaluated the levels of 5S implementation scaling from a score of Level 0 or No Effort up to Level 5 or Best Practices. The next edition of the competition set sail on December 2023.
