RTC-KPVTC Davao, led by Engr. Constantino B. Panes Jr., represented TESDA XI at the inaugural Task Force Davao event “Kulturavan: Seguridad at Kaalaman” on Saturday, January 28, 2023, held in Brgy. 5-A, Bankerohan, Davao City.
As part of TESDA’s mandate to reach out and serve more clients with the aim of transforming and improving the lives of the country’s poor and underserved citizens, RTC-KPVTC Davao conducted a 3-day free skills training program for 39 trainees from the Maranao tribe of Brgy. 5-A, Bankerohan. The training included “Prepare and Cook Hot Meals (COC 1) Leading to Cookery NC II” and “Prepare and Produce Bakery Products (COC 1) Leading to Bread and Pastry Production NC II” with trainers Juvilyn Mahilum and Millicent Concepcion respectively.
During the Kulturavan event, TESDA XI, represented by RTC-KPVTC Davao, joined forces with other government agencies in Davao Region like DOLE, NBI, PSA, LTO, and the Davao City Police Office to offer free services, such as dental and medical check-ups, to around 700 individuals. The deputy mayors from different tribes in the city, members of the Davao City Security Cluster, United Muslim Council for Peace and Development, Supreme Tribal Council for Peace and Development, representatives from the Davao City LGU, and National Government Agencies all gathered to discuss security concerns and promote a culture of security in Davao City.
TFD Commander Colonel Darren Comia expressed his gratitude to those who supported the military initiative, which has boosted the confidence of the community, as well as local and national governments.
